One day, my wife sat bolt upright in the middle of the night and asked me, “Why is there no ‘Rotten Tomatoes’ for book reviews?” Rather than simply reply that I didn’t know, I foolishly offered to build one for her.
She went back to bed, and I embarked on a long journey that eventually brought me here, to the launch of a new website that gathers literary criticism from around the web and puts it all into bite-sized chunks so book lovers around the world can get a better idea if they’d like to read a particular book or not.
If I’d known just how much I’d just bitten off, I probably would have back-pedaled a bit and tried to weasel out of the bargain. Instead, I persevered & dedicated myself to the task of coding this beast and somehow got to the point where we are today.
I’ve finally got the whole thing together to the point that it met with my darling bride’s approval, so now I’m sharing it with the world. I’m hoping you enjoy the site and get a lot out of it to. I’d love it if this became your go-to site for book reviews, and I’m dedicating all of my energies to making this site the best it can be in order to make The Lit Review the first place to go when you’re looking for your next great read.

Hi Meredith,
We don’t actually review books here, we compile reviews from more reputable sources & assign grades to them to help people find their next great read. We’d be happy to carry reviews of your book if it’s been reviewed. Feel free to forward more info to ed at thelitreview dot com. Cheers.
